The Surroundings

The location of Hotel Boutique Villa del Marqués makes us different and even more special, as if we were a hidden treasure, it is a quiet area, in the heart of nature, with 4.5 hectares of surroundings with a unique garden. Having the airport 6 km and close to the commercial areas of Oviedo, Gijón or Avilés. With beaches in its surroundings, such as Playa del Aguilar, 2 km away.

Not so far away from the hotel, you will encounter many types of beaches and coves where you can walk, sunbathe or engage in water sports. You will be able to visit solitary beaches, hidden coves or more familiy-orientated ones.

From our hotel, you can join the trail that runs along the coast of Asturias, which in this section is known as Ruta de los Miradores and runs between San Esteban and Aguilar beach.

You also have other routes to explore the nature and heritage that surrounds us, such as the Pre-Romanesque Trail in Pravia, the Ranón Trenches or the Narcea Trail.

Our Hotel is located in the former palace of the first Marqués de Muros. In this village, Muros de Nalón, you will also find the main square, also called Marqués de Muros (16th century) and the palace of Valdecarzana and Villahermoso (15th century).

Our location also makes us an ideal place for exploring the Bajo Nalón region: the colonial architectural complex in Somao (5 min. by car from the hotel); the first church of the "prerrománico asturiano" art and capital of the Old Asturian Kingdom, in Santianes del Rey Silo, or the monumental village of Pravia; the picturesque medieval village of El Castillo, with its wooden pier where the ancient pilgrims crossed El Nalón, in Soto del Barco; the eel capital of San Juan de la Arena, where it is still present a past of canning and coal mining, such as the black sand beach of Los Quebrantos; and San Esteban de Pravia, where we will be able to stroll through the historical complex of the first and only coal mining port of Spain, a good example of industrial architecture, due to its good state of conservation.

If Asturias is famous for something, it is for its excellent gastronomy: enjoy the famous fabada, cabbage pot, fish and meat from the region, have a tasty cider «culín» (sip) or take the opportunity to visit a restaurant with the highest cuisine. Visit our fishing villages or inland towns. Any leisure offer for all tastes is possible.
